Jeffrey L Gilson, MA, Founder, President
Architectural Historian, Documentary Filmmaker, and Philanthropist
A four-time award winning documentary filmmaker, Mr. Gilson is a renowned architectural historian specializing in the art and architecture of the Italian Baroque and the Papacy. His acclaimed feature length documentary film, “Via Papale: Lost Road of the Popes” has won many awards here in the U.S. and will premiere internationally in Rome and Milan in the summer of 2014.
As Director of the Via Papalis Foundation, he has worked in conjunction with the Holy See and the Comune di Roma to mark the actual route of the Via Papale discussed in the film. Marble Targhe Stradele placed through the extant streets of Rome will highlight the lost papal processional route connecting the Vatican to the Lateran Basilicas and will give students, pilgrims and scholars a new topographical view and understanding of the urban fabric of the Eternal City not seen in 5 centuries.
Previously, Mr. Gilson served as V.P. of Residential Sales at Halstead Property Company in New York City grossing $40,000,000 in sales during his tenure at the Boutique real-estate brokerage.
As co-founder of The Palm Springs Center for the Performing Arts Association, Jeffrey is committed to the creation of iconic World Class Performing Arts spaces to serve the cultural and educational benefit of Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley desert community.
